Biography

As an orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialization in sports medicine at NYU Langone Medical Associates-West Palm Beach, I provide non-operative and operative treatments for patients with injuries to the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle. These include fractures or dislocations as well as tendon and ligament tears. I specialize in performing complex knee and shoulder surgeries, including tendon transfers about the shoulder, complex knee ligament, meniscus, and cartilage restoration, and shoulder replacement surgeries. I also treat chronic degenerative conditions, such as shoulder, knee, and hip arthritis in the form of injections, therapy, and joint replacements, which I perform with robotic and computer-navigation assistance. My career in orthopedic surgery was inspired by my own experiences with injury and the excellent care I received. As a junior in college, I tore my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) not once, but twice! Both times, I was motivated to get back to the sports I loved to play. My surgeon at the time, the late Freddie H. Fu, MD, creator of the world-renowned sports medicine program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, was not only one of the pioneers of ACL surgery and the field of orthopedic surgery, but also an excellent physician and a role model for me. After graduating with magna cum laude distinction and selected for Phi Beta Kappa, with a degree in chemistry from Northwestern University, I eventually trained under Dr. Fu as a medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Fu's exceptional care before, during, and after my ACL surgeries is what I strive to provide to all my patients to this day. After medical school, I continued with an orthopedic surgery residency at our own NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, where I was awarded the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital Safety Star Award for exceptional patient care, which remains a top priority to this day. During my fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts General Hospital, I also served as the assistant team physician for the Boston Bruins, Boston College athletics, New England Revolution I & II teams, the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots, which provided me with invaluable experience treating and managing elite athletes across a spectrum of sports.
