Khalid Azzam, MD, is an assistant professor and orthopedic surgeon with expertise in hip and knee replacement as well as surgical fixation of bone fractures. While working in a hip and knee replacement research laboratory, Dr. Azzam developed a special interest in the field of adult reconstruction and research measuring the success of these procedures. He wrote book chapters and published more than a dozen peer-reviewed articles during his time there, and later went on to complete orthopedic residency training at the University of Nebraska. He moved to Chicago, IL, to enhance his knowledge and skills by working with the experts in the field of hip and knee replacement at Rush University Hospital. His passion for learning and desire to challenge himself motivated him to complete a second fellowship, this time focusing on surgery for bone fractures and injuries. Dr. Azzam continues to maintain a practice that combines orthopedic trauma with total and partial hip and knee replacement as well as revision hip and knee reconstruction surgery.
