  FAQ

  • Question: Are these the exact same AAOS SAE Questions that the AAOS has released in the AAOS SAE exams in the past?
    • Answer: Yes, these questions have been taken verbatim from the AAOS SAE Exams from 2007 to 2013.

  • QuestionWhat is the difference between AAOS SAE Questions & orthobullets questions?
    • Answer: AAOS SAE Questions have been developed and peer-reviewed through the Academy’s Evaluations Committee. Orthobullets questions have been developed and peer-reviewed through the orthobullets peer-review process.

  • Question: Are all of the AAOS SAE Questions current and accurate?
    • Answer: AAOS SAE Questions have been developed and peer-reviewed through the Academy’s Evaluations Committee which leads to a very high level of quality. It is possible that some questions have become obsolete with time, and therefore orthobullets will continually review the AAOS SAE Questions and remove questions that have become controversial or obsolete.

  • Question: Why is there occasionally only 4 answer choices where orthobullets always has 5 answer choices?
    • Answer: AAOS SAE exams often only have 4 answer selections. We have decided that the pros of updating the format to be consistent with the format of the orthobullets questions do not outweigh the cons. Residents in our focus groups have made it clear that they prefer if the AAOS SAE Questions stay in their original format.

  • Question: Why does the explanation format look difference on AAOS SAE Questions than orthobullets questions?
    • Answer: You will notice the question explanation is different on AAOS SAE Questions than orthobullets questions. We have decided that the pros of updating the format to be consistent with the format of the orthobullets questions do not outweigh the cons. Residents in our focus groups have made it clear that they prefer if the AAOS SAE Questions stay in their original format.

  • Question: How do I tell if I am looking at an AAOS SAE or orthobullets questions?
    • Answer: When in review mode on exams, or looking under topics, you can distinguish AAOS SAE questions from orthobullets questions with the question identifier. If it says (SAE13BS.62), then you know it is a AAOS SAE Question. If it says (OBQ06.62)  or (SBQ06.62) then you know it is an orthobullets question. When in testing mode, you will not be able to tell the difference between AAOS SAE Questions and orthobullets questions (aside from when a question only has 4 answers you will know it is an AAOS SAE Questions).

  • Question: What if I only want to do the questions from on AAOS SAE Exam, for example 2010 Pediatrics?
    • Answer: The AAOS SAE Questions on orthobullets are organized using the orthobullets exam system. Therefore, to take one exam simply sort by specialty and year. For instance, to only take the questions on the 2010 Pediatric AAOS SAE exam, then sort by Type = AAOS SAE Questions, Year = 2010, Specialty = Pediatrics.
